This is the follow up to my short which won the Halloween Horror Challenge and is showcased on the Best of Scottish Shorts DVD 2008.

I have taken the short story and developed it further by toning down the experimental nature of “five steps” and make The Happiest Man in Town more narrative driven.

Edinburgh from up on high!

Edinburgh from up on high!

I really wanted to make the city of Edinburgh a character in this and managed to do some pretty interesting aerial shots. I wanted to show Edinburgh from above and from angles never seen before, which is getting increasingly difficult as everyone is making great films depicting the city in very different ways but i haven’t seen Edinburgh from that viewpoint yet….i dont think!!!

The film is in production (hoping to be completed by August) but i have shot some footage and created a trailer (link below) to get interest and crew members involved. I am gathering the crew at the minute but like “Five steps” It has a budget of about 30p and a packet of crisps. So i have had to blag the aerial shots and beg crew members to be involved. If your are wanting to get involved drop me an email.

There will be a website with more information on the film/crew/cast etc and the very cool designers over at CIVIC have been kind enough to design the site for me! They are all awesome and been reallygreat to work with.

I also have had concept art done for the film by the extremely  talented David Lupton, if  you havent seen his work you are missing  out, i have one of his images on the left. Click on his name above for a link to his website, amazing stuff and its great to have him  involved with the project!

If you want to know any more about the crew/cast/story or want to help out give me a shout!!!
